The Pointy Heads are a dapper four-piece from Perth, Western Australia, bringing energetic Americana, old-time, Irish and Australian folk music to pubs, festivals, weddings and special events. Influenced by Tom Waits, C.W. Stoneking and Bruce Springsteen, the band balances old-time character with a lively, approachable sound built for a room full of people.

Shaun plays acoustic guitar and banjo, Riley plays fiddle, Paul plays double bass and Jon plays cajon. All four contribute vocals, giving the band a varied live sound that moves easily between lead voices, harmonies, traditional tunes and crowd favourites. Their repertoire includes Americana standards, Irish and Australian material, well-known singalongs and original Pointy Heads songs including The Intervention, That Game, What Becomes of a Cowboy? and The Breakin’ the Law Tango.

The band began by playing without amplification, including at weddings, and still brings that direct acoustic spirit to its amplified performances. The Pointy Heads are regular performers at the Woodbridge Hotel in Guildford, where they play a broad three-set show for local audiences. Whether appearing on a festival stage or tucked into a favourite pub, they arrive dressed for the occasion and ready to fill the room with old-time energy, musicianship and properly good fun.
